McKinley Tech got out to a fast start led by Sophomore Forward Antwan Gross’ interior dominance. However, Fairfax Christian’s Ryan Blakey went on a personal 8-0 run to end the first half and tie things up at the break. In the second half, there was simply too much Ryan Blakey. Blakey scored 13 points in the third quarter, knocking down 3 threes and some free throws. However, McKinley would not go down without a fight. McKinley’s junior guard Calvin Hollingsworth caught fire in the 4th quarter, knocking down 3 straight threes to tie things up at 62. Free throws and a costly turnover by Tech in the end, would help propel Fairfax Christian past McKinley Tech. Blakey had a game-high 33 points and earned MVP honors. Hollingsworth had a team-high 18 points in the losing effort.
