Paul VI’s Kevin Dorsey hit a buzzer beater versus Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco in the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions semi-final game which was aired live nationally on CBS sports network.

Paul VI, who trailed by seven with about two and a half minutes to go, got back into it with a pair of Marcus Derrickson three-pointers before Dorsey hit the buzzer beater to advance PVI to the championship on Saturday night at 8:30 versus nationally ranked Montverde (Florida).  That game will also be aired nationally on the CBS Sports network.

A handful of top teams from the DMV will be appearing on the ESPN family of networks over the long weekend in the 2013 Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, MA.  The tournament is arguably the most prominent tournament of the entire year.  48 teams will be in action during the 5 day event.  Almost every big time school in the nation you can think of is participating.  From Archbishop Mitty to Brewster Academy to Findlay Prep to Gonzaga to DeMatha to Montrose to Huntington Prep to Lone Peak to Montverde (who is playing Paul VI in Missouri on Saturday night!) to Oak Hill to Simeon to South Kent to St. Anthony to St. Benedict’s to Tilton to Whitney Young this tournament is ABSOLUTELY LOADED.

Montrose Christian plays St. Benedict’s Prep (NJ) on Sunday at 2PM on ESPNU.

DeMatha plays Hudson Catholic (NJ) on Monday at 6PM on ESPNU.

And you can even catch former Gonzaga and DC Assault star Nate Britt who runs the point for Oak Hill against Simeon (IL) on Monday at 2PM on ESPNU.
