Gonzaga continued there stellar post-season run and tremendous defensive play in front of a packed house at American University, capturing the 2017 WCAC championship with a 68-55 win over Paul VI. It was Gonzaga’s second chip in the last three years. Reigning two time WCAC player of the year Chris Lykes scored a game high 20 points. Myles Dread had his second consecutive terrific game at Bender Arena, this time gong for 15. Prentiss Hubb added 11, Eddie Scott had 8, Josh Watts 7, Terrance Williams 4, and Michael Myers 3 for the Eagles. Aaron Thompson and Brandon Slater led the way for the Panthers scoring 15 each. Anthony Harris had 9, Jeremy Robinson 7, Josiah Freeman 5, and Jeremy Roach and Miles Latimer scored 2 each.
