Jordan Abdur-Ra’oof was a big reason why Takeover was able to run the table at the 15&U division.

With most of the games at different sites , we spent Mother’s Day afternoon in Glen Burnie where the 15&U division brought the weekend to a close. In the championship game of the Gold bracket Team Takeover got a huge contribution from Jordan Abdur-Raoof. Raoof , a 6’5″ power forward collected 18pts and  grabbed 11 boards in their 56-52 win against Xpressions (MA). Jordan is a hybrid forward , dribbles like a power but can shoot the mid-range like a guard. Doesn’t need much space to get his shot off , and is active on both the offensive and defensive glass. Colleges in need of a big guard that can shoot will want to take note of Takeover guard Daniel Noel , a 6’4″ SG  who a first glance seems like one many will want to monitor.

On a side note Team Takeover Orange advanced to face Takeover Black in the 15&U Gold Bracket but since both teams decided not to play each other the official championship game Takeover defeating Expressions.

Saturday’s top performer showed no signs of letting up as Bryon Hawkinspoured in 20pts in DC Assault’s 61-60 win against Team Philly. Hawkins is the unofficial 15&U MVP as the most consistent 2014 player at the tournament averaging nearly 20 a game throughout. The 5’11” combo guard will be one of the top guards in our 2014 rankings , deservedly so.

Team Philly gave Assault all that they could handle in the form of Jahyde Gardiner, a 6 foot 4 inch swingman. Gardiner was labeled as one of the toughest 15&U prospects to guard from opposing coaches at the invitational , with his long frame and ability to finish at the basket. Gardiner scored 23pts in the loss .

Peek back tommorow when we hope to have about six different games online to watch either by half or in their entirety , along with the Highlights Mix from the Baltimore Elite Invitational 2011.
