Casey Morsell was brilliant as he scored eight of his team high 16 points in the fourth quarter and blocked Justin Moore’s shot at the buzzer in leading St. John’s past defending WCAC champion DeMatha and into championship Monday.
St. John’s who went 0-6 versus DeMatha, Gonzaga, and Paul VI sent shockwaves through the DMV.
Ish Leggett and Darius Maddox added 12 each. DeMatha was led by Earl Timberlake who was dominant in scoring a game high 19. DeMatha will look to rebound in the Maryland Private school champions and Alhambra.
