Southern Maryland closed the 2017 PYBL championship on a 9-0 run coming back to defeat Anne Arundel 55-52 in front of a packed house at DeMatha Catholic. It is their 3rd straight championship in the Boys Elite Division. Willie Rivera was named MVP as he scored 17 points and grabbed 16 boards. Dylan Williamson added 17. Antonio Hamlin led the way for AA with 18 and 10. Souther MD’s Derrick Key went down with a knee injury during warm-ups and was taken out on a stretcher. Jerace Walker was out of town and did not play for Anne Arundel.
