Richard Montgomery and Rockville both opened their seasons Tuesday night. The first half of this game was truly a “game of runs.” Rockville went on a 14-3 run to end the first quarter and extended their lead to 8 halfway through the second. However, RM would answer with an 11-1 run of its own and take a 2-point lead at the half. Both teams would trade buckets in the second half, but when it came down to the wire, RM’s senior guard Aufa Rizal would hit two-clutch threes in the waning minutes of the game to help seal the deal. Rizal hit four triples in the fourth quarter alone and six triples on the night for a game-high 23 points. Rockville’s Nate Yetogsu chipped in 20 points in the loss.
