The WCAC has seen some memorable games on Valentines day over the years and 2021 followed suit.
Trevor Keels went off for 41 points in a game that’s date and/or time was switched three times due to weather issues. When it was all said and done DeMatha hosted PVI (who was officially the home team) for the second time in eight days.
DeMatha saw four players score 20+, a feat that head coach Mike Jones said he’s never seen in one of his teams in his tenure as head coach (although this game’s 20 minute halves + OT inflated stats).
Jordan Hawkins went for his high point total in a DeMatha uniform with 29.
Elijah Hawkins went for 22, Tyrell Ward 20, and Rodney Rice 20 including eight in OT.
Keels career night was backed up by 2022 G Dug McDaniel who added 21. Sharp-shooting freshman Darren Harris added 17 and 2021 F Tyler Coleman added 13.
