FINAL 68-61 St. Mary’s Ryken Snaps HD Woodson’s 35 Game Winning Streak

St Mary’s Ryken did something that no team had done since another WCAC team, St. John’s did on March 10, 2015. They beat reigning DCIAA and DCSAA champion HD Woodson. Reckon got off to an 11-1 start, only to see Woodson strike back and lead for much of the next 3 quarters. Winston Tabbs scored 15 4th quarter points to lead the late charge for Ryken. Source

Springbrook Snaaps Magruder’s 31 Game Winning Streak in Over-time Classic 12-19-2012

It had been 31 games since Magruder had last tasted defeat. That was against nationally ranked DeMatha in last season’s opener. Since that loss Magruder has won a 4A state championship and avenged their loss versus DeMatha. Springbrook brought their hard hats on Wed. night in Silver Spring and walked away a 4 point victor versus undefeated Magruder. Springbrook remains undefeated in the 2012/13 season. PVI Blows Out Gonzaga to Stay Perfect in WCAC 1/10/2019

Paul VI rode the hot shooting of sophomore Trevor Keels (24 points) to their 25th straight WCAC regular season victory, a dominant 69-44 road triumph over Gonzaga. Freshman Dug McDaniel added 13 points for the Panthers, while Xavier Joyner and Josh Oduro both chipped in with nine points. Freshman Devin Dinkins led the Eagles with 10 points. Source

DeMatha downs Wise in 2015 National HS Hoops Festival 12/12/2015

It was a private vs public PG County Showdown in the night cap of day one at the National High School Hoops Festival in Hyattsville, MD where host DeMatha got a double digit victory over the Wise Pumas. DeMatha senior, and UAB commit Nate Darling was named game MVP. Source

Wilson Escapes Gonzaga in 2018 DCSAA Semi-Finals 3/1/2018

Terrance Williams and Dimingus Stevens were tremendous in this one but Stevens’ Wilson Tigers won a close one, 66-63 at McDonough Gymnasium on the Georgetown campus to advance to Saturday’s championship. Walter Johnson Stuns Whitman Again in OT to Advance to Maryland 4A West Regional Chip 3/6/19

Whitman came out the gates firing on all cylinders and jumped out an 11 point lead. Walter Johnson would settle in and close the first half strong, ultimately taking the lead. In the second half, both teams traded punches, but it was Walter Johnson who came out victorious thanks to big shots by Hank Roll and sophomore Philip Stubin.
