Coach John Brady’s Annapolis High School Running Panthers will host the Eagles of Upper Room Christian Academy from North Carolina on January 28th 7:15 p.m. at Annapolis High School Gymnasium.

Upper Room Christian Academy is one North Carolina most competitive high school basketball teams lead by senior Rodney Purvis, who is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard rated the nation’s No.1 Shooting Guard in the county  by Rivals.com and No. 16 overall player on ESPNU’s Top 100, who has committed to  NC State University.  He’s a super-athletic guard and has been dubbed as the next John Wall (Washington Wizards, NBA) by many sports writers and coaches while averaging 28 ppg, 7 rpg, and 5 apg.
Annapolis High School Running Panther is lead by Jourdan Stickler 25.5 ppg/ 14 rpg (Senior guard) who is one of the Top scorers in Anne Arundel County and the Washington/Baltimore region, Delaszo Smith 16.6 ppg (Junior Guard), and Juan Brown (Sophomore).

Coach John Brady and Coach Avie Lester (Upper Room) agreed that both teams play at a fast pace and it should be a high scoring and highlight filled showcase of talent.  “This is going to be an exciting game and we are honor that Upper Room wanted to play us”, said Coach John Brady.  Annapolis High School’s record is 9-2 and Upper Room Christian Academy is 11-7, Annapolis High School Athlete Director, Dave Gherdes said, “We really expect a sellout crowd on Saturday night and I know the community will really support our Running Panthers for this Big Game!”

The Annapolis High School Junior Varsity will play Upper Room Christian Academy’s JV at 5:15 p.m. and the Varsity game will follow at 7:15 p.m.  Admission will be $5.00.
