Wilson Overcomes 21-0 Defecit to Win Double OT Thriller

As Sidwell Friend’s Josh Hart is narrowing down his schools and is expected to select what college he will attend in the next week or so it was no surprise that John Thompson III was in the stands tonight watching the player who many expect to be his next coach.

Hart’s supporting cast didn’t offer much help tonight, but Hart put together a dominating performance against DCIAA’s Woodrow Wilson High School of Northwest, Washington. It was 21-0 Sidwell Friends after the first quarter and it looked like this game was going to be a snoozer. Wilson showed alot of heart and brought the halftime defecit down to 12.  Wilson owned the 3rd quarter, outscoring Sidwell 23-12.  After 32 minutes of regulation basketball the teams were tied at 58.  In the fourth quarter Wilson found themselves at the free throw early and often converting 11 of 17 free throws in the quarter.  Sidwell’s fourth quarter production came from their star, Josh Hart who scored 11 of his game high 28 points in the frame.

Wilsons superstar tandem of McFadden and Gaither proved to be too much down the stretch as they combined for 50 of Wilsons 74 points.

With the victory Wilson advances to the second round of the Sidwell Friends tournament and plays at 4:15 on Saturday versus the winner of Friendship Collegiate and The Heights.

The championship of this tournament will be at 4:30pm on Sunday, December 4th.
