The intensity was palpable in a game that featured 12 ties and 14 lead changes, with Roosevelt leading by as many as 7 points after a 5-0 run gave them the lead going into halftime. Jamir Butler and Isaiah Gross (Eleanor Roosevelt) tied for the game-high with 20 points. They combined evenly for 8 rebounds as well. St. John’s was led by Darius Maddox and his 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. St. John’s advances to Monday’s semi-finals.
