Bullis Squeaks One Out on Senior Night — 57 – 55 Victory Over Georgetown Prep

Bullis pulled out a nail-biter over rival Georgetown Prep on friday night in both teams regular season finale.

This game came down to execution at the very end. Bullis sophomore guard Raffy Baumgardner launched a deep 3 in the fourth quarter as Bullis held a two point lead with the shot clock expiring, and 10 second on the game clock.  The shot swished, and it was Baumgardner’s only field goal of the game.  Georgetown Prep freshman Jared Bynum then raced down court and launched a 24 footer that dropped to bring the deficit back down to 2 with just over three second remaining.

After Bullis missed the front end of a one and one Georgetown Prep was out of time-outs and had to launch a 60 footer that drew backboard.  With the win Bullis finishes their regular season 19-6.  Prep finishes the 2014-15 regular season 16-9.

Junior Alex Leder led Bullis with 12 points, almost all coming on nifty, creative, contested layups that the 5’9” guard got up over defenders. Bullis got a balanced attack. Nine Bulldogs scored between three and twelve points.

Georgetown Prep was led by freshman sensation point guard Jared Bynum, who nailed four triples on the night en route to a game high 16 points.  Kevin McDonald and Trystan Pratapas added 11 each.

Up next for each team is the IAC playoffs where both teams have their eyes on the prize.
