DeMatha Captures BSN Summer League Championship With 78-66 Victory Over Gonzaga

While Marquee players were missing for both WCAC powers, DeMatha held a decisive double digit lead for almost the entire game.

Gonzaga’s Bryant Crawford wasn’t in attendance because of his commitment to the Lebron James Skills camp.  On the Other side Joe Hampton was both Hurt, and had recently announced his transfer from DeMatha to Oak Hill Academy putting his eligibility in the game at question.  But with his foot in a boot it wouldn’t be an issue.

DeMatha still had a very balanced attack, and showed why they are such a deep team.  They don’t have that one mega-star .. as of now, but they do have a few players who could step into that role, namely sophomore DJ Harvey.  On the other hand Gonzaga does have star power with but their bench is struggling compared to that of the Stags,  Sam Miller and Chris Lykes have star power written all over them and Bryant Crawford who wasn’t in attendance could possibly be the best player in the area.  But he certainly has some competition.

When it was all said and don’t DeMathaa walked away a 78-66 Victor in the 2014 BSN summer league championship.
