Gonzaga uses 19-1 Third Quarter Run to Come Back on St. John’s

On a night when Gonzaga’s Kris Jenkins scored only six points, and a night that saw Gonzaga trail by double digits for almost all of the first half you may think that Gonzaga may have suffered their first loss in the WCAC in the 2012-13 season.

But Gonzaga used a 19-1 third quarter explosion to come back on rival St. Johns to remain undefeated in the WCAC at 16-0.

Senior Charles Glover scored a season high 23 points for the victorious Eagles.  Bryant Crawford added and junior Jordan Abdur-Ra’oof added 10.

Darian Anderson led St. John’s with 21.  The cadets hit for 9 triples on the night.

St. John’s closes its WCAC regular season with a trip to Paul VI on Friday where it looks like they are locked in to a #3 seed in the WCAC tournament.

Gonzaga hosts Good Counsel Thursday and then host O’Connell at American University Sunday where they should have an opportunity for a perfect WCAC season.  If they accomplish that feat it will be only the second time it has happened since the WCAC merged from two divisions to one about a decade ago.
