Georgetown Prep Holds Off Landon 60-47
Georgetown Prep improved to 11-6 on Friday night and a perfect 3-0 record in the IAC with a 60-47 victory over arch-rival Landon on Friday night. With the loss Landon finds themselves at 2-9 overall and searching for the right combinations.
The big men are focal points for both of these teams. Michael Wolfe, a 6’8″ athletic big who can play on the wing or on the block sets the tone for Prep. The versatile senior can go inside and outside, can handle the ball, is very active blocking and altering shots on the defensive end and can finish above the rim. Landon’s Sebastian Wells is a force down low. He’s every bit of the 6’4″, 256 lbs he is listed at. He has great hands, and great basketball instincts and dominates on the block. Earlier this year Wells had a game where he went for 28 and 28 versus Sidwell.
On Friday Wolfe scored a game high 15 points to go along with 6 blocked shots. Prep guard Alex Fabean-Scotch added 13 for the little Hoyas. Wells finished the game with 11 for Landon but his minutes were limited due to foul trouble. Kolby Williams scored 12 for the Bears.
The two teams will play at Landon on January 29th at 6PM.
