Big Game for Bragging Rights at MLK Hoopfest
Monday’s MLK Hoopfest will always be remembered for Aquille Carr and his Patterson Clippers making the trip down 95 for a classic Baltimore vs DC Showdown, for Nate Britt not playing in the contest, and mainly for Kris Jenkins hitting one of the most memorable shots in the DMV in the last decade, a straight away triple, at the buzzer, to avoid loss and remain undefeated. But there was another game in the Hoopfest hat had a lot on the line.
Well, it didn’t have much on the line at all but it isn’t very often that the defending Maryland state champs and the defending Virginia state champs get a chance to square off in what we consider a DMV classic. North Point, the defending Maryland 4A state champs laced up against I.C. Norcum, the defending AAA Virginia state champs. The game was back and forth the whole way through. Both teams were shooting a superb field goal percentage and when it was all said and done Virginia walked away with a one point victory. Capitol Hoops put together this highlight package of the game.
