Tim Chialastri of capitolhoops.com recently caught up with class of 2010 guard Dante Holmes who recently scored 28pts in the I-95 Elite Challenge All Star Game between DC and Baltimore's top rising juniors. I would like to thank Dante Holmes and Carlos Green for their time and effort.

Capitol Hoops -  How is your summer going so far , with you high school St. Frances Academy at the Rock Summer League? What kind of experience do you hope to acquire going in to your junior year?

Dante -  The Rock Summer league is going well so far. My team mates and I are getting used to playing with each other but so far it has been a lot of fun. Playing in the I-95 Elite Game is an honor representing my hometown Baltimore , MD and although it should be fun playing against my friends from DC , when it is all said and done I just want to go home with the Win. Hopefully by the end of the summer I can mature more as a player.

Capitol Hoops - You all are coming off a great season at St. Frances playing alongside Maryland State Player Of The Year Sean Mosely. Have you learned anything from playing with Sean and will that benefit you in your career?

Dante - Sean showed me that you have to work hard all of the time. Listen , learn and continue to work. I also acquired leadership skills from playing with Sean and will have a more active role orally on my team.

Capitol Hoops - As you enter into your junior year , what are you doing to continue to improve on your game? How do feel about having former standout Mark Karcher as the Head Coach for next season?

Dante - I am working hard on my weaknesses and overall game. There's plenty of room for improvement. I feel good about Coach Karcher going into next year. He's tough on us because he knows what it takes to win and get better as a player and as a team.

Capitol Hoops -  What is your favorite subject in school and if you couldn't choose basketball as career what other field might you be interested in and why?

Dante - Math is my favorite subject to study in school. If I had to choose a field other than basketball it would be business management , I love the idea of possibly owning my own business one day.

Capitol Hoops - Who are your top college choices and has anyone emerged as a leading candidate in your recruiting status?

Dante - My top college choices are Clemson, West Virginia, Tennessee, Temple, Memphis, and Pittsburgh.  As of right now West Virginia has a slight advantage but it is still to early to call.

Capitol Hoops - What are some of the deciding factors that will play a role in you picking a school to further your education?

Dante - Academics is the most important issue for me and a family type relationship with the coaches.

Capitol Hoops - You are still young only in the class of 2010 , how do you want to be remembered when your career is over with?

Dante - As one of the best to come out of Baltimore like my grandfather Dickey Kelley.

Capitol Hoops - What is your favorite NBA team / player?
