Paul VI Rolls in Battle of Two Top WCAC Schools

On Thursday night in a sold out gym in NW Washington the two top teams in the WCAC squared off and many expected a game that would go down to the wire.

This wasn’t the case.  Paul VI out hustled host St. John’s and looked like the dominant team on Thursday night as they cruised to a 71-51 victory.  Junior point guard Kevin Dorsey led the way for PVI scoring a game high 19 points.  Teammate Marcus Derrickson double-doubled going for 17 and 11 and the Panthers dominated the game in the open court converting on numerous fast break attempts.

St. Johns, a team known for their perimeter shooting connected on only seven triples and they simply couldn’t hang with PVI’s tempo.

St. John’s has another huge game on Saturday at DeMatha when they play Potomac (MD) in the High School Hoops Festival.  Expect this game to be played in the 90’s.  Potomac put up a staggering 110 points on Friendly Thursday night.

In the same High School Hoops Festival PVI will face Montrose Christian at 7:15 which should be yet another superb game.
