Springbrook Rolls Past Thomas Stone in Nightcap of Roberts Oxygen Holiday Classic
Andrew Robinson, a 6’4″ junior forward for Springbrook is really making a name for himself this year. He was the game high scorer Thursday night, scoring 21 points. It was the sixth time in Springbrook’s seven games that he scored 14+ this year. It was also the sixth time he led “The Brook” in scoring this year.
On Thursday night Thomas Stone was Springbrook’s opponent. Last year Thomas Stone blew a double digit lead and lost in the Maryland 3A state championship game versus Aquille Carr and the Patterson Clippers. This year things aren’t looking so bright for the Waldorf school. They return only one starter, point guard Michael Briscoe and they are a very small team, especially compared to last year’s team.
Springbrook, however may be one of the biggest teams in the state starting players at 6’6″, a trio of players at 6’4″ and lightning quick point guard Tomazye Anderson at 6’0″. On Thursday evening it was apparent that “The Brook” was too big, too fast, and too good. Tomazye Anderson scored 13 points to go along with five assists. Junior Isaiah Eisendorf added 12 and the Blue-Devils held Thomas Stone star guard Michael Briscoe to a season low five points. In his first four games this season he scored 26, 27, 23, and 25.
On Friday Gwynn Park plays Spingbrook at 5pm and Thomas Stone plays Magruder at 7pm. [/format]
