Riverdale Baptist’s Nigel Johnson with the Play of the Day!

A LOT of people came out to DeMatha Catholic to see Huntington Prep and #1 player in the nation, Andrew Wiggins.

While Wiggins certainly didn’t disappoint, it was Nigel Johnson who turned in the play of the day.  The 6’0″ guard, known for his incredible range, his pure point guard ability, and his role as a team leader shocked everyone in the gym when he intercepted a pass from a Huntington Prep player, took the ball to the hole, and piped it right on his grill.

Johnson also led a furious attack as Riverdale Baptist led the #1 team in the country 21-12 after one and 30-27 at the break.  But Johnson sat much of the third quarter and Huntington outscored them 11-3 in the period.  Wiggins turned it on in the second half and led the West Virginia school to a 53-44 victory.
