Aquille Carr Wins MVP of Brandon Jennings Under Armour Invitational in Milwaukee
One day after rumors spread like wildfire that Aquille Carr had committed to Seton Hall, the diminutive combo guard claimed MVP honors at the 2nd annual Brandon Jennings Under-Armour Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Carr, who broke the news that he would join the big east as a member of the Seton Hall Pirates via twitter had nothing but basketball, and getting a win versus a tough Price team from Los Angeles on his mind today. Early on it appeared Price may have Patterson’s number as they got out to an early lead. The Clippers turned things around in the second quarter and coasted to a double digit win.
When interviewed after the game Carr discussed his growth within the Patterson System. He attributed the teams success to his maturity and the new and improved pieces that he has around him. Last year Patterson didn’t have a player over 6’3”. This year they have a front line that goes 6’10”, 6’6” and 6’4”. Carr is taking less shots this year, turning the ball over less and Patterson is winning games while playing a national schedule.
A press conference is set for Thursday at Patterson High School on Kane Street for what most expect to be Carr’s official announcement that he will sign with Seton Hall. Capitol Hoops will be on hand to bring you all of the festivities.
A complete tournament breakdown and full highlights from both the Patterson game and the St. Frances game (who also won in the first game of the 1 day event) will be published in the next day or two.
